To celebrate the installation of the new soccer goals on the back oval, all classes in Grade 4-6 will be involved in a soccer tournament. The tournament will run over the course of the next month and will pit class against class to determine which grade has the fanciest footwork. Today was our first round of matches with 4K defeating 4M four goals to one, whilst the 6T defeated 4U in a narrow three goals to two victory. Congratulations to these classes for making it through to the next round.
Within Physical Education lessons this term, students from Foundation - Grade 6 have been practising their basketball skills. Classes in younger year levels had an opportunity to learn the fundamental skills required to play a game of basketball, whilst the upper year levels have been applying these skills to a series of drills and gameplay. Templestowe Park has a proud history of basketball and all students in Grades 3-6 are looking forward to next term's Hooptime tournaments.
Today, 58 TPPS students travelled to Ruffey Lake Park to participate in the Templestowe District Cross Country Championships. We had a very successfully day, with three students (Annabel K, Alexya C and Archie M) winning their event and a massive sixteen students finishing in the top 10 and earning a place at next month's Division Cross Country Championships, the most of any school in the district. I couldn't be prouder of all students, with everyone completing the course and the majority improving on their results from past years. Congratulations to the following students who will be running at the Divisional Championships on Tuesday June 13: Annabel K (6T) Davinia F (6T) Alice D (6L) Samantha K (6L) Ruby T(6L) Sahra C (6L) Ethan C (6T) Cooper E (6L) Archie M (6T) Alexya C (5K) Sienna D (5K) Jade H (5K) Christopher B (5A) Emily D (4U) Josiah A (4K) Moses A (4M) |
