This afternoon, the TPPS Soccer Championships Grand Final was held on the Templestowe Park back oval. The match pitted 6L and 6T against each other to see who to determine the champion class.
The first half was a tight affair with both teams' attacks being thwarted by goal keepers Jack B (6L) and Ayden I (6T). However, in the dying minutes of the period, Oscar J (6T) was able to score a scrappy goal sending 6T into the main break with a 1-0 lead. 6L started the second half strongly and were able to keep the ball in their forward half, including many shots on goal. Finally, the floodgates opened with Pete M (6L) finding the back into the net a mere minutes before the full time whistle, sending both teams to a penalty shoot out. The advantage see-sawed back and forth throughout the shootout, with 6T finishing as victors four penalty goals to three. Well done to all students on a fantastic tournament. Mr Mathew and I look forward to next term's tournament. I wonder which sport we will be playing?
